Mr. Smith has been blessed to served as principal of PSRES for seven years. There is no place he would rather serve each and every day. Mr. Smith started as an elementary school teacher and has now served as a principal for 11 years. He has an amazing wife and incredible kids, Jackson and Mollie, who he and his wife are extremely proud of always. Jackson has served at a youth camp all summer and will start at NC State in the fall, majoring in biochemistry. Mollie is an amazing high school student who loves life and lives it to the full. Family, both his own and his school family, is always his first priority. The goal at PSRES continues to be creating the most wonderful school where students and families and staff can learn and thrive. We want PSRES to be one of the best schools in the state of North Carolina. We have the most amazing students and staff and families and are expecting the best year yet. Our theme this year is, “Believe in Me!” Know we believe in every one of our students. Your child will always be our top priority and our whole staff is here to make sure your child has the best elementary experience ever. Thank you for partnering with us to make sure we are all being the best for each one of our kids!

Hello Panther Families!

My name is Meghan Walker and I am so happy to be joining PSRES as your Assistant Principal! I began my career in Cabarrus county as a student teacher and then became a special education teacher at Hickory Ridge Middle School before moving to Hickory Ridge High School where I was a special education teacher and exceptional children's department chair. In addition, I completed my principal internship at HRHS.

I graduated from UNC-Charlotte in 2015 with a B.A. Special Education General Curriculum and Adapted Curriculum K-12. In 2023 obtained a M.Ed. from UNC-Charlotte in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. I also obtained a graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from UNC- Charlotte. In addition, I received a graduate certificate in School Administration from UNC-Charlotte in 2024. 

I am looking forward to a great year at PSRES!

My name is Pia Holmes and I am the Assistant Principal at Pitts School Road Elementary School.  I received a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Coastal Carolina University and  Master's Degrees in Elementary Education and Educational Leadership from the University of South Carolina.  My Specialist Degree is in Curriculum and Instruction. I am so proud to serve at PSRES where children come first and they know they are loved, respected and supported while achieving their goals. Our students are amazing and watching them learn and grow every day is such a privilege! At our school, we are a family and there is absolutely no place else like H.O.M.E.(Heartfelt Opportunities to Motivate and Educate)!!
